Records from the Morton Grove IL PD were added, covering June 2024 through early February 2026. Morton Grove is a village of roughly 23,000 residents in Cook County, Illinois, about 14 miles northwest of Chicago.

#Organization audit

  • Type: Organization audit
  • Timespan: Jun 1, 2024 – Feb 8, 2026 (~20 months)
  • Records: 12,307

Morton Grove PD’s own searches run at a moderate, consistent clip — roughly 100–300 searches per week through most of the period. A spike in February 2025 (386 searches in a single week) is the most notable deviation. Reason formatting is inconsistent across the dataset, and the older monthly files predate Flock’s Search Type field, so search-type breakdown is unavailable for roughly the first year of records.

#Network audit

  • Type: Network audit
  • Timespan: Jun 1, 2024 – Feb 8, 2026 (~20 months)
  • Records: 10,083,602
  • Organizations: 3,097

#Volume and organization count

Weekly network volume ranged from roughly 83K to 161K searches, with a typical week landing around 110K–130K. The first full week of data (Jun 9, 2024) immediately shows ~91K searches, suggesting Morton Grove’s cameras were already well-integrated into the Flock network before the audit period began.

The most striking feature of the dataset is the organization count. Through December 2024, roughly 1,700–1,870 distinct agencies searched Morton Grove’s network per week. That number collapsed abruptly in the last week of December 2024 — dropping to 660 — and never recovered, settling into a range of ~660–990 for the entire 2025–2026 period. Weekly search volume did not fall proportionally, which suggests the remaining agencies simply ran more searches each. The pattern mirrors a similar drop seen at Bloomingdale IL PD around the same time.

The week of Feb 16, 2025 is the single highest-volume week in the dataset at 161,030 searches.

#Search types

Search-type data is only available for records from mid-2025 onward; the older monthly files lack the field entirely. Of the 4,203,013 typed records:

The remaining 5,880,589 records (58.3% of the total) have no search-type field.

Joliet — about 35 miles southwest — leads all Illinois agencies. The rest of the top ten spans the full Chicago metro area and as far north as Rockford (Winnebago County SO).

#Immigration enforcement

89,805 network audit searches reference immigration or HSI (Homeland Security Investigations) in their reason field. See the immigration report for details.

DuPage County SO — Morton Grove’s western neighbor county — runs more immigration-flagged searches through Morton Grove’s network than any other agency. Several familiar names from other Illinois data-update posts appear here as well: West Chicago IL PD and Oak Brook IL PD are consistent presences in immigration-related searches across the Chicago metro network.

#The leaked investigation file

Row 294,632 of Morton Grove’s February 2025 network audit file contains the same 157-page active murder investigation document reported on in detail elsewhere on this site.

On February 5, 2025, J. Alipour of the DuPage County Forest Preserve IL PD ran a plate lookup through Morton Grove’s camera network and pasted the entire file — containing informant details, gang intelligence, and personal information on people not under suspicion — into the search’s Reason field. Flock’s system accepted it without restriction and propagated it into the audit logs of roughly 200 of its customers, Morton Grove among them.

When Morton Grove received an IL FOIA request for its audit logs, the village responded:

In order to respond to this request, we need to consult with our special counsel. A one-week extension is requested. We will respond to your request June 20, 2025.

A week later, after consulting with counsel, Morton Grove released the logs, including the unredacted investigation notes.
